To print or not to print….

I have been contemplating offering printing services (prints, canvases, etc) with sessions because although I LOVE having photographs throughout my home I often forget to print them. Yeah! GUILTY!!! I post them, share with friends, put as desktop image, phone background and then….forget to print them. Also I am notorious for feeling guilty about removing images from frames but when I do print them I have no choice but to frame them and put them up.

For the past months I have been contemplating offering the images in print/canvas and other products but not sure if to do that with package (include pricing in fee) or reduce pricing and you select which images to print, what size/price, etc. Any thoughts from you all would be appreciated as I want to finalize this decision as soon as possible. I have gotten some feedback from clients and it was all towards offering the images printed rather than digital delivery or CD (which are just about obsolete).

It’s almost mid January 2017 already – whaaatttt?? Yeah crazy – and I am doing a Valentine’s set up this year and I will have a cute Mother’s Day set up and special to get your spring images in!! More on that soon via Facebook and Instagram. Seniors, if you want to book with me and haven’t please contact me as soon as possible – filling up dates very quickly.

Thanks!!

p.s. For those of you who know me, I am a DIE HARD STEELERS FAN and my team has been doing fantastic so I will book around the times they play. Fellow Steelers fans – you get a discount for being a fan.  STEELER NATION!!!!

Happy New Year!

Well it is officially 2017 – a brand new year!! How wonderful is that? Yes, another year to photograph new things, places and people. I rarely make resolutions because I think we should try and change or better ourselves all year round. However, this year I am making the exception of starting a resolution on January and that is to blog more. I want to share more and let you all get to know me.

First thing I want to share is that I feel your pain when your session doesn’t go perfect. I have a 13 year old who is over the “let’s take photos of you” phase on top of also insisting to dye his hair blonde during wrestling season and an 8 year old who on a good day takes lovely photos looking oh so pretty and on bad days cries and screams that she doesn’t want to do it (even after telling me she would).

I am also a wife who begs the handsome man she married to cooperate with me in family portraits (he is not fond of photos despite being rather good looking). So I feel your pain when husbands at the last minute say never mind I don’t want to do it or when kids go crazy mid session and aren’t having it. It happens, I understand and again feel your pain. All’s not lost though, there is always a way to get a little one to come around (trust me I have done almost everything) or a husband to feel comfortable – I vow never to pose him in a cheesy way or make him stand a certain way.

I aim to make you all feel comfortable with direction but not posing you. Your images should be you and your best not a weirdly posed or over edited you (I mean Photoshop can be overdone). So don’t feel bad when your little one throws a tantrum, it has and will happen again. Don’t be upset if the family session ends up being you and the kids (I have done that when the Mr said no way baby girl I don’t want to do it). Speaking of which, I came up with a great way to get my way when it comes to images – I make family photos a Christmas present. Then no one can say no. Sneaky I know! 😉

Until next time!

Hugs,

Hilda
